Arthritis plagues many of our patients who come into our office suffering with pain management. The CDC reports that 23% of all adults, or more than 54 million people, have arthritis and it’s a leading cause of work disability. Even though arthritis can greatly affect your everyday life, there are treatments available to help you.

By definition, arthritis is the inflammation of your joints which commonly leads to joint pain, swelling, stiffness, etc. There are more than 100 types of arthritis, but the most common is osteoarthritis which is the deterioration of the cartilage in your joints due to “wear and tear.” Arthritis can change and symptoms can come and go. Furthermore, there are several risk factors for developing arthritis including: past joint injury, obesity, age, and a sedentary lifestyle.
