Lathan McCall, MD

Dr. McCall is double board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine. His clinical focus is interventional spine treatment within comprehensive care for a range of pain conditions. He joined Raleigh Neurosurgical Clinic and Eastern Regional Pain Specialists in 2021.

Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, he studied molecular biology and biochemistry at Middlebury College and worked in basic science research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He earned his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. After an internship and two years of general surgery residency, he completed anesthesiology residency and a pain medicine fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.

His research has appeared in Microbiology, PLoS One, and Pain Medicine Case Reports. Outside medicine, he enjoys gardening, motorsports, video games, and time with his family and their golden retriever, Ruby.

Heath Fallin, MD

Dr. Fallin practices interventional pain management, including neuromodulation and complementary therapies. He emphasizes listening closely, treating patients with respect, and developing a personalized treatment plan. He sees patients age 18 and older.

He earned his medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed residency and a pain management fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The American Board of Anesthesiology certifies him in anesthesiology and pain management.

Ronald M. Long, MD

Dr. Long founded the practice that became Eastern Regional Pain Specialists. He worked as an anesthesiologist at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro for 15 years, served as chair of its anesthesiology department, and established Wayne Anesthesia in 1984.

As his clinical focus shifted toward pain medicine, he left Wayne Memorial Hospital in 1999 and pursued further education. In 2002 he opened Goldsboro Pain Medicine. The practice adopted the name Eastern Regional Pain Specialists in 2006 to reflect its presence across eastern North Carolina.

Michelle Fleck, FNP

Michelle is a family nurse practitioner whose pain management work emphasizes patient education and helping patients improve function. She explains conditions and treatment plans in practical terms so patients can take an informed, active role in their care.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Barton College in 2010 and a Master of Science in Nursing at South University in 2021. Her approach centers on thorough, compassionate care and building trusting patient relationships. Outside the office, she enjoys family time, CAD design, and 3D printing.

Allison Thomas, NP

Allison is an adult nurse practitioner who cares for patients with chronic pain. She considers the physical and emotional effects of pain and values relationships that help each patient feel heard and supported. Her approach emphasizes listening, education, and individualized treatment.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004 and her Master of Science in Nursing there in 2008. She is a member of the North Carolina Nurses Association. Away from work, she enjoys traveling, family time, and her favorite television shows.

Jessica Lindauer, DMSc, PA-C

Jessica is a physician assistant caring for people with chronic pain and spine conditions in Goldsboro. Her interests include musculoskeletal disease, spine disorders, and interventional treatment as part of comprehensive pain care. She focuses on helping patients improve function, independence, and quality of life.

She studied biology, with a minor in Spanish for the Health Professions, at Truman State University. She earned both her physician assistant master’s degree and Doctor of Medical Science at Southern Illinois University. She belongs to the North Carolina Academy of Physician Associates and the American Academy of Physician Associates. Outside work, she enjoys traveling, running, and spending time with friends and family.
