Conditions We Treat

Most people who come to us are living with pain that has not responded to rest, medication or physical therapy. Below are the conditions we most often treat. If yours isn’t listed, ask your physician whether a referral to Eastern Regional Pain Specialists would help — we see a wide range of chronic and acute pain.

Back and neck pain

  • Lower back pain — one of the most common reasons people see a doctor in the United States
  • Neck pain — chronic pain involving the muscles, tendons and ligaments of the neck
  • Sciatica — radiating pain that begins in the buttocks and travels down one leg
  • Lumbar spinal stenosis — narrowing of the spinal canal in the lower back, which we treat with the mild® procedure
  • Vertebrogenic low back pain — pain arising from damaged vertebral endplates, treated with the Intracept® procedure

Joint and arthritic pain

Nerve pain

  • Neuropathic pain — pain caused by damage to the nerves themselves
  • Chronic pain after surgery — including pain that persists after spine surgery

How we treat pain

Our approach is a comprehensive one. Depending on your diagnosis, a treatment plan may include physical therapy, education and coping skills, medication management, non-surgical procedures performed in our on-site procedure center, and continued care visits.

Getting started

All patients must be referred by a physician. See Your First Visit for how a referral works and what to expect, or ask your doctor’s office to review our information for referring providers.
